Codex Offices – Istanbul
Oğul Burnaz Architect’s Codex offices in Istanbul masterfully blends historical knowledge with contemporary technology, creating a dynamic workspace that encourages collaboration and reflects a multilayered journey through time and discipline.
The term “Codex” originally refers to books formed by the binding of separate leaves. Over time, this concept has evolved beyond a mere physical structure to represent an understanding where diverse disciplines and bodies of knowledge converge into a unified whole.

Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Atlanticus stands as one of the finest examples of this approach. It brings together content from astronomy, engineering, art, and many other fields within a single volume, creating a multilayered world of knowledge.
Embracing Codex’s multidisciplinary vision that merges layers of time, we blend historical knowledge with contemporary technology and orient ourselves toward the future.
In the exhibition design, each layer represents a specific period in time; visitors embark on a journey that begins with a historical backdrop, progresses to the present, and continues forward into the future. This journey culminates in a physical transition into our office space, symbolizing Codex’s vision opening toward what lies ahead.
Our design process drew inspiration from Codex’s corporate color—red. Strategically employed to ensure visual continuity and wayfinding throughout the space, red supports visitors’ smooth navigation across layers, becoming an integral part of the interior circulation plan.
Material choices reflect Codex’s industrial and technological identity by prioritizing durability, functionality, and contemporary aesthetics. These materials enhance both the visual and structural coherence of the exhibition area.
Additionally, the design places great emphasis on employee comfort. Open workspaces encourage flexible and creative collaboration, while social areas provide relaxing environment. Special spaces such as a cinema room enrich the working experience. Together, these elements foster motivation and productivity, creating a fertile environment that supports Codex’s multilayered journey through knowledge and time.
Codex embodies a holistic vision that unites time, knowledge, and discipline. This vision materializes through architectural design and spatial organization, offering visitors a rich, multilayered, and meaningful experience.
